These monkeys made from pipe cleaners and cardboard (and googly eyes) have been a hit with my kids for several days now. I put some branches and flowers in a jar and set up some Christmas lights. My 4 and 3 year old hung the monkeys (there was a crocodile, too) from the branches.

I got little carried away and made them in all different colors...
My kids colored some of them with crayons even though I didn't tell them they could play with MY toys! ;)

Action Figure Play Table

My husband and I built and designed this little contraption for our son's 3rd birthday. We made a table out of scrap wood and added different pieces of stuff that we thought would make good action figure play accessories. My 3 and 4 year olds are always using our furniture and lamps to hang their action figures on and this is, in part, an attempt to have a safer place for them to play. Also, it is just a fun thing to play on! Both of my kids have been using the heck out of it for the two weeks we've had it.

This picture shows the bottom "cave" that has this cool little LED nightlight in it that looks like a mini lava lamp that changes color. I found it at Lowe's Home Imp. store. It doesn't get hot because it uses LEDs.

Bumblebee and Flower Preschool Blanket

Made for a class gift. For preschoolers to sit on the different colored bees and flowers. For story time or picnics, etc. I used an inexpensive green comforter and made Bees and Flowers with faces that I appliqued on. The wings and petals were ironed on using fusible iron paper. This didn't work very well due to having to iron through the puff of comforter, but I used no-sew glue to fix any loose petals. The base of the petals are all sewn down under the flower center, so hopefully they won't come loose. I learned a lot from this project. One of those "simple" ideas that turned into a big production :)
