It was delightful watching the lambs running into the safety of the fold.

John 10 v 3-5
The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep recognize his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice. They won’t follow a stranger; they will run from him because they don’t know his voice.”

EXPLORE # 349 - 15.05.2013

Because the rapeseed in the foreground had seeded and grown slightly away from the rest of the field, I was able to capture the beautiful flower. It was a blustery day but none-the-less I was able to catch some detail.

But one flower alone could not produce the animal feed and vegetable oil for human consumption – it takes fields upon fields of the stuff to make the produce which is needed.

Sometimes standing alone and counting the cost is good, other times we need to unite with others to
make a difference.

Psalm 133 v 1
How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony!

I watched this little chap walk out into the sea; his dad was shouting to him “Don’t go any further”. The tide was coming in fast but the wee fella took no heed of his father’s voice.
He was quite unharmed by his dad’s grasp, he wasn’t being held by the wrist but by the end of the arm of his little jacket.
His dad gently put him down on his feet and he toddled alongside him back to where his mum had lunch ready for them.

480. The old house at Carew Mill

The old house at Carew Mill" />

This is an old, old house next to the ancient tidal mill at Carew, Pembrokeshire.
I have no idea how old it is; it looks a bit dilapidated but there is a wonderful nostalgic feel to the place.
I wonder what tales it could tell if it could talk.
The windows are wooden and worn, maybe it is a ‘listed property’ because there is no UPVC to be seen anywhere.
The front porch looked as if it might topple over at any minute but I loved the Welsh slate, although dislodged in places, on the overhanging roof above the doorway.
There must have been many generations living in this property and it was still lived in as, if you look carefully, there is a car just behind the magnolia tree and a young man passed me as I was taking the photo and walked in through the front door with a newspaper under his arm.
If anyone knows any identity or history about this house, I would love to know it.
The building stands directly next to the tidal mill and opposite Carew castle.

I just couldn't keep away any longer. My right arm is still in plaster - hopefully it comes off next Tuesday.

This chapel is set in the beautiful, peaceful valley of Talley - my pal and I were walking through the woods when I caught this scene through the branches of the trees. I was unable to use my camera much because at the moment I can't hold and click at the same time - but for this picture I managed to compensate my movements (without dropping the camera).
Just wanted to say "Hello everyone" - should be back soon. Thank you for your flickr mail enquiring about me. Sandra

Heading into the storm ......" />

/
Steve and I watched as this ship (you can just about make it out on the horizon) headed into the storm while we were in Porthcawl on Saturday.

It kept a straight course, no matter what was going on around it.

Maybe sometimes we need to do that – keep going in the direction God planned for us, no matter what comes against us. We can trust Him to go through the storm with us.
/
Sorry I haven't been around lately - I have got a bit tied up with things - will get back soon.

Steve and I had just finished our lunch, yesterday, in the Ancient Briton Pub, Penycae.

We were walking out of the door when this scene met our eyes.

We get an awful lot of rain in these parts, but along with the rain and intermittent sunshine - you now and again get a view like this.

Luke 12:27
"Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don't work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.

/
One of the unusual signs I often stumble across. If you keep your eyes alert, they are everywhere.

Steve and I love to wander around beautiful old Welsh villages nestled in the valleys.

I’m hoping this is just a relic from the past …. otherwise, I do not think these guys have updated their system since the 1950s and have probably never heard of mobiles or the internet. In some of the outback villages, way in the mountains maybe this is possible !!!!!!!
Steve and I spotted this field whilst strolling through the Welsh countryside.
It couldn't help but catch the eye.
I do not think I have seen a field so perfectly manicured.
The farmer must have worked painstakingly on those furrows.
465. The white of his eyes .............

The white of his eyes ............." />

“Don’t fire until you see the white of his eyes”.

Don't react to a situation too early. This saying comes from an order allegedly given by American officer William Prescott at the Battle of Bunker Hill in the American Revolutionary War.

His ears were erect.
His eyes were focused.
His intent was VERY obvious.
His statement was loud and clear.
BUT IT WAS HIS EYES THAT UNNERVED ME THE MOST
Nothing was deterring his concentration, not even the clicking of my old 35 mm Canon.
There was someone to his left that he really wasn’t happy about.

Even with the chain hindering him, I felt real uneasy and took this shot quickly.
I wasn’t taking any chances, so retreated as fast as I could out of harm’s way as I wasn’t sure of the length of the chain.

I have scanned it from an old 35 mm snapshot – so sorry about the clarity.

CAN'T STOP NOW .... WILL CATCH UP LATER ON.
