Loyal North Lancashire Regiment

Col O'Brien was born in 1862 and commisioned on 5 September 1888. He retired from the Army on 26 June 1907 but was recalled on the outbreak of war in August 1914.

For the duration of the war, he served as Temporary Lieutenant Colonel, Garrison Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers.

Captain Leo Jude was killed in action, aged 20, at Beaumont Hamel on 15 November 1916. He is buried at the New Munich Trench British Cemetery, Beaumont Hamel.
