Was looking for an old church I spotted one day while driving out this way and thought it would be great in the foreground of a sun rise image. Got up at 4.00am but missed the church in the dark. Ended up having to settle for this salt Flat near the Murray River at Wellington S.A. to catch the sun rise before it disappeared. Maybe Next time.

My first ever lightning capture.There were over 150,000 Lightning strikes in South Australia yesterday. This is one of two of the 150,000 that I managed to capture. Taken from my front porch during a power outage. Wasn't quite sure how to go about it so I set the camera to AV- F32, ISO 100 which gave me a 30sec exposure. I pointed the camera in what I hoped was the right direction and hey presto success on my first try. Tried three more times and got a partial strike on the second one but no more after that. Pretty happy to have got this one though.

I took a trip to Melbourne on Saturday to attend a Ken Duncan photography workshop. Which was excellent. Couldnt resist the opportunity to get down to the South Bank before my flight home to get a couple of shots of Melbourne From the Yarra at dusk. This is one. Hope you like it. 3 Exp HDR

More from the Mannum Waterfalls. There are so many oportunities for photo's here I will have to go back again. This one is a hand held 3 exposure HDR. There was no where to successfully set up my tripod for this composition.

Another shot from my frustrating shoot on Sunday. Taken before my cable release broke. Almost a grab shot really because my original planned location wasn't what I was hoping for due to the poor light. This was an attempt to make the most of a dissapointing morning, so that getting up so early and hiking in the dark wasn't completely a waste of time. Hallett Cove reserve

Had a bad shoot yesterday Morning. Got up early to catch the sunrise at Hallett Cove. The sunrise didn't offer much and my Idaea of catching the waterfall in the dawn light didn't work, it was hardly flowing and the light was poor. Then my cable release broke. This was the best shot of the morning. Taken after sunrise using the shutter manually.

The Convention Centre, Ramada Hotel, and the Festival Centre as seen from the River Torrens at night (Torrens Lake). Took this shot last Sunday night at around 7.00pm while on my way home. I have been meaning to stop there for months as I drive past once a fortnight at that time of night. Finally I remembered to take my camera with me.

The controversial bridge to Hindmarsh Island complete with an obliging sea gull in the fore ground. It stood very still while I took 3 Exposures for this HDR.

I don't know the name of this beach. It is just behind the Bluff at Victor Harbor.
Believe it or not, there was a guy out there surfing when I took this shot.
An experiment with HDR to see how it would come out. 3 Exposures blended in Photomatix and some sharpening in CS5 as well as a bit of healing brush work to get rid of some water spray spots that were on my lense at the time.
Some advice! If the ground you are standing on when photographing waves, is wet ,chances are you are going to get wet too at some stage. My shoes were water logged after this.
