Explored 04/25/13 - #382

Behold! The Circle City Ringers. It was very windy and very cold. We did this shot FAST. Molly and I ran ahead 2 minutes and set light and exposure levels. We did this in one, quick take. Eight frames. Bam. Bam. Bam.

And did I mention the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 is still awesome?

Explored 09/16/12 - #499

Well. Our first totally-outdoor reception. And boy did the sky play nicely. This was actually a bit later into the sunset where the oranges and reds had mostly gone away... buy it was really one of those sunsets you only get 2-3 times a year.

Apollo (dad), Unnamed (boy), Luna (mom). We refused to name the babies because they are for sale and we'd get attached to them. Too late, but really we've got to either sell both boys, or sell Luna. They are just such soft, furry bundles of joy... it's really hard.

Possibly *the* best feature of a 36mp camera: square crops that are nearly 5000px per edge. That's pretty damn close to my actual film scans (~6200px @ 3200dpi).

This was taken in one of the most lackluster venues we've ever shot in, a local American Legion. It's essentially a high school cafeteria. That "theater curtain" behind them? Just a divider used to hide their chair storage.

This looks fake to me. In a good way. Like... a really good composite. But 'tis not. I think it's like that because it's 24mm @ f/1.4. It's a depth of field that's seldom seen at that focal length without doing special tricks.

P.S. I take great care to make sure my images look amazing when pixel-peeped... and it's nice to see Flickr finally have a fluid display so you can see images larger by default. I thought when they upped them to 600px last year, it was a step in the right direction but a very half-hearted effort. SO, with that being said, feel free to take a quick browse through my stream. Maybe you'll find something you haven't seen before. :-)
