A view of the beautiful Algarve winter - here one can see the low tide (taken from Vila Nova de Cacela - at high noon on a winters day (nice and warm seemed to be "elsewhere") : for info on the here (with the low tide you got fresh oysters and mussels in these salt mashers and chanels of the Ria Formosa) then down is the deep the Atlantic Ocean - a most enchanting place with lots of legends (mostly from the arab times) - so very beautiful and ever changing - its truly enchanting. A fantastic get away not only a beautiful and unique but most relaxing, great food and beauty as well as a perfect climate. What more do you want? (better Off.Season) but always great! ENJOY!

As the song says I really have always been happily "chasing rainbows" all my life... and still do! - this picture was taken in the center of Lisbon - a lovely rainbow (out of the blue) - and you can see the typical old palaces of the center of the city (Baixa) - so as we go into a new week and month I send you this rainbow and a bit of Lisboa. We are all living uncertain days but dream we must. Wishing you all to find your "bluebird ... somewhere or someway". Enjoy!

Dedicated to a Lady, and artist, my best friend, my Mother - who loved beauty, grace, elegance and wit - and gave me, amongst other things, the love for flowers - we always had them in every house as well as music and books; being her daughter was stimulating and could be fun as well as challeging. This is a rose of her garden on a hot May morning when I said goodbye to her. (She was a rose of May and left in May.)
This is tribute to her, a kind of celebration of a life; she made many people happy with her unique voice and her work. I miss her but she lives in my heart.

At end the of the day by the Torre de Belem - where in the days of the discoveries (Descobrimentos) ships would adventure into the unknown, today we see all kinds of ships and boats coming and going - yet the old tower stays there still waiting and "protecting" Lisbon. I love this hour of the day (twilight), it calms me and I hope it will do the same to you - it has also the blues I so love, the water and whatever you can imagine while looking at it. Its a lovely place within the city where one can relax anytime of the day. ENJOY!

In this beautiful "corner" I sat down on the grass and enjoyed the beauty of Nature in all its glory: the sound of the water, the birds, the breeze, the plants all come together in perfect harmony - after a long walk in this unique "park" I rested here and medidated for a while and felt so "at peace"; so as of we are all going through a crisis in this world I hope you will enjoy this beautiful and peaceful place - so listen to the music, be zen (and lets "give peace a chance") ... As the summer is coming to an end in the beautiful Guincho and in Portugal somehow September has began with lots of sun and good weather ... here you can
appreciate the most beautiful " Fortaleza do Chincho" (an ancient fortress as many on the Portugal coast, - this totally restaured)... one of my favourite places and a fantastic gourmet restaurant (see Michelin guide 3 stars) with a great view !!! (and with lots of happy memories from my parents to my friends of then and now - a favourite place) ... Here the winds are very strong so you can also appreiciate the magical view,the surfing going on as well as the lovely view of the the sea the the neaerby hills of Sintra --- indeed a magical place to relax and enjoy the best that summer (and not only) has to offer ... a magnificent view of the coast of Portugal in this case a few minutes from home (Lisbon)... I hope you will share with me this view and virtual "joy" ... (beware strong waves and cold water) ---

Also this is for dear friends who have come here and enjoyed this special place ....(as well as those who might come or just those who like the "scene") what is better at the " almost end of summertime " than to eat great seafood and hear the waves of our great ocean as well as a great view?! .. So my dear friends ENJOY windy Guincho, lay back and listen to this most relaxing music... be Happy and Zen.... (and have a great September...)

A view of the beautiful city of Lisbon, capital of Portugal, from the River Tejo - It is the westernmost largest city located in Europe, as well as its westernmost capital city and the only one along the Atlantic coast. It lies in the western Iberian Peninsula on the Atlantic Ocean and the Tagus River and it also happens to be one of the oldest cities in the world; like Rome it's a city on seven hills with a most pleasant climate. In this image in the foreground you see the continuation of the "zona ribeirinha" (an "green" area along the riverside with parks, restaurants, etc), the buildings on the hill are of the Alfama district ( the oldest and also famous for the Fado) - you can see on the right the cupola of the Pantheon (17th century) and on the left side the Chuch of São Vicente de Fora (16th century) .
As I said due to its climate and particular light near the sea and the hills it's very pleasant to live in and it has become a definite "fave" for holidays destination, so much so that it has been awarded "European City of the Year 2012, as well as 4th most beautiful city in the world.
