From November. Previously seen in a failed Impossible Project shot. The pie was somewhat a failure too. So I made another one right away, that worked much better.

Petite, because it's only 6" in diameter. A deep dish, pear pie. First time I've ever made pear pie, in fact. I'll post a photo of a slice of this tomorrow!

The very first pecan pie I ever made.

This is from November. I didn't upload it then because it didn't turn out the way I wanted (The exposure was wrong, the tripod slipped down between my composing the picture and pushing the shutter button so it's off kilter, etc.)

I made my first EVER pecan pie earlier this week (photos to come, eventually - I took them on film!) It was a beaut, but I was less than thrilled with how the filling turned out. The recipe (Bryanna Clark Grogan's) gave two options for making the filling: making a syrup by boiling a sugar/water mixture or cutting to the chase by using maple syrup. I did the former for "Take I" of pecan pie, and the former for Take II (with a minor adjustment.) Take II came out BEAUTIFULLY! I'm kind of mad now that I wasted calories eating that first pecan pie, not knowing that I'd have this perfect one later in the week!

Strawberry cake + strawberry cream cheese icing. And, of course, strawberry jam in between the layers.

This is so much more silly looking than I envisioned when I set out decorating this cake.

VERY quick decorating job on this. Messy writing - I had to decorate it and sprint out the door to birthday dinner for my sister.
