The Pink Octopus is ready for shipment! He hangs from a neck chain I based on a crochet doily edge by LiaG2 (http://www.flickr.com/photos/liagovers/5584842095/in/photostream). It worked out perfectly, so thanks for the inspiration, Lia. Bead embroidery on Ultrasuede, chain woven from seed beads and crystals, silver chain I beaded through for the tentacles.

The Pink Octopus is embroidered with seed beads on Ultrasuede. Now I am weaving a chain for it, based on a crochet design by LiaG2.

The "Octopus" commission is finished. The request was for a purple menacing octopus. The Milli Mermaid Maiden was my idea and the client loves it. This was a fun project! Stained glass, Van Gogh glass, vitreous glass tile, iridescent tile, mini tile, beads, dichroic glass cabchon "bubbles", millefiori, and a clay face I made and painted. It is edged in streaky turqoise tile on the sides and has a mini tile and Van Gogh glass border with iridescent glass hexagon accents on the corners. Letters on the bottom edge spell "octopus".

Progress on the Octopus--picture taken outside so the iridescence shows. He is closing in on another Milli Maiden in distress! Stained glass, vitreous tile, iridescent tile, bead, Van Gogh glass, mini tiles, glass hexagons, millefiori, and a clay face I made and painted.
