Bravo had pulled up his Spunky during the running of the third race on July 13th when the filly seemed to Bravo to not be right. After enduring boos from race fans, Richard Schosberg, the trainer of Spunky thanked Bravo for saving his filly's life as she had suffered a bone chip in her knee during the start of the race.
