These windows were on the Globe Trading Company on Atwater and Orleans street in Detroit. I liked the vines crawling up around the building, it made for a nice texture :)

The Globe Trading Company....a view down historic Atwater Street

I took this on a shooting adventure with my best friend Derek (DetroitDerek...look him up!) just a few weeks ago. The main focus was the historic Globe Trading Company on Atwater and Orleans streets in the riverfront/warehouse district area of Detroit, the RenCen was an added bonus! The Globe was innovative in steam engine design. The complex was built between 1892 and 1919. The largest building at the time was the machine shop. Henry Ford worked here from 1880 to 1882. Thomas Edison also did a stint here. It also was known as the Dry Dock Engine Works and Detroit Dry Dock Company. The Steinbrenner family was I believe owners or part owners and it was George who bought the New York Yankees.
