MINOT, N.D. — KMOT reporter Lindsey Fry interviews Lt. Col. Kendall Bergmann, Deputy Commander of the St. Paul District Corps of Engineers, overlooking a Souris River water control structure near Burdick Expressway East in Minot. Outflows from Lake Darling will be reduced significantly starting on August 25, and be held low for several days. This will, in turn, reduce flows in the Souris River below the lake beginning a couple of days later. NEW YORK — Tropical Storm Irene brought heavy storms throughout upstate New York, causing flooding and leaving tremendous amounts of debris, big and small, in the Hudson River. The Troy Lock was filled with debris including entire derelict boats and docks as well as vegetative debris ranging from leaves and branches to entire trees and power poles. Crews worked tirelessly to clear the debris out of the lock using heavy equipment to move larger pieces onto land for disposal and pikes to move smaller vegetative items into the Hudson River. Burlington, N.D — At the Burlington temporary housing site, the black ductile pipe shown in this image will be tied into the Burlington main water line on the north side of Hwy. 2. On September 7, the contractor used directional boring equipment to bore a hole under the highway and place a casing for the water line. Later that day, they placed the water pipe in the casing.
