Replacing the roof of EBR-I

Pocatello Roofing workers repair and update the roof of Experimental Breeder Reactor I in early August 2010. Portions of the roof on the National Historic Landmark received a reflective coating to help cut the building's cooling costs.

EBR-I gets new, cooler roof

A portion of the roof of Experimental Breeder Reactor I that was repaired and updated with an energy-saving reflective coating in August 2010. The National Historic Landmark is part of the Idaho National Laboratory site in the desert west of Idaho Falls. Big Southern Butte is visible in the distance.

The Experimental Breeder Reactor I National Historical Landmark, located in the Idaho National Laboratory desert site west of Idaho Falls. A reflective coating installed on portions of its roof in early August 2010 is intended to help cut the building's cooling costs by reflecting some of the sun's rays.
