Yes, it's the man himself.
Mr. Ringo Starr.
This was taken last night
at one of the best parties
I have ever been lucky enough to
attend - an intimate gathering for
my good friend,
the legendary photographer
Henry Diltz - on the occasion of
the publication of
"California Dreaming," an
utterly amazing compendium
of his famous iconic images
and his spirit and his whimsy
and love and poetry -
all beautifully woven together
into an immense tome,
to which I was very lucky to
contribute much writing.

this was a party at Rona Elliot's
beautiful Bel Air home -
and in addition to the celebrated
Mr. Diltz were many great old
friends of mine and his -
including Brian Wilson (!! photos to come), Graham Nash,
Michelle Phillips, Joe Walsh,
Mickey Dolenz, Jessica Harper,
Olivia Harrison and others. And
I happily snapped photos of
them all - including this
one of Ringo-
taken outside
in the dark in Rona's
beautiful Bel Air backyard
on a crisp and perfect
November night
in Los Angeles.
