I was hoping to maybe finally get my Idolomantis to do a threat pose by putting her in front of my dog, but she just wanted to crawl up on him....with great hesitancy. First she started to crawl on his foot and then backed off, then she stood there and did a couple of quick jabs at my dog's ear to test the water before going for it, which would have made a cool video, as high as she made his ear flip up. I probably would have ended up with a great shot if I let it continue, but as obedient as my dog is, I still just couldn't imagine him letting her crawl up on him via the ear without at least a paw swipe and I couldn't risk it just yet....way too much time involved raising this most difficult species and way too few good pics of her.

I gave Winston my old 20D and he just loves going out into the water to take pictures.:) He was using the lens that I normally would use for this shot, though.

Looks a lot better viewing the large size.
This picture was obviously taken after the other one, since Winston doesn't look nearly as excited.

Winston licking off some peanut butter. Shot with my 8mm fisheye. As always, ignore the 50mm that the exif always says with any manual lens on my 7D.

This was sort of a fun shoot. Granted, it was much more fun for Winston, since we went through a whole package of hot dogs. For such a long shoot, for some reason he never seemed to get bored or lose interest.

Please click HERE for the purpose of this upload. I thought it was pretty funny. It has to be watched on the "original size" page though, for the animation to work. It works very well with about any music too, but I would have to convert it to a movie format to add audio, so you can just turn on your stereo.:) It also did lose some quality, having to save it at 256 colors for the animation. I didn't have my camera on a tripod or have this idea in mind while shooting these three pictures...I just have two great models.

I'm currently in a photo contest where we have to shoot something fresh and the subject is "Frank Miller". I didn't know who he was, so in case you don't, he's mostly known for his dark comic drawings, including some of Batman. I haven't submitted it yet. Not sure if I want to make any changes. Batman comics have a bar code placed in a blank space at the bottom and they also have a DC logo at top left for DC Comics. I was contemplating putting a vertical bar code to go in the empty space at the bottom right and maybe an SC for my initials at top left. What do you think? You think the barcode would be distracting and unnecessary or would it look better?
