The brightest part of the Milky Way at Sagitarius/Scorpius.

The red giant Antares, M4 and the Rho Ophiucchi complex are at the top left of the photo.

Several bright nebulas are visible with the Lagoon (M8) being the largest.

The dark lanes of dust from Antares to the Milky Way are clearly visible as well as the pipe nebula and the great rift of the Milky Way.

Meteor at the Milky Way

A shot but bright meteor just next to the Milky Way. The big bulge of the Milky Way in Sagitarius, Scorpius and Ophiucchus is clearly visible in the photo.

The great rift in the middle of the Milky way is also visible in the photo and was easy to see with the naked eye.

The Milky Way from a Dark Location

It's a big difference when there's no light pollution. This photo shows the Milky Way from Carina/Centaurus at the bottom to Sagitarius/Scorpius at the top. Several nebulas and dark nebulas are easy to recognize.
