Droplets with gerberas

Droplets on a Poinsettia leaf reflecting the gerbera flowers I placed behind. No Photoshop, just cropped I did use a tripod for this one I find that droplets really need more steadiness than my usual hand held !

You do need good light for best clarity in the droplet and to arrange some flowers behind to get your refraction the rest is easy I take several shots and choose the best one for focus .

Every year the magnolia in our garden gives a great show. It had a bad start with the cold weather but still retained most of its flowers.

Although a chilly day yesterday the bees were back out along with my camera at last.

Still getting to grips with changing to a Mac and getting programs for editing.

Well we still have very little colour in the countryside but on an evening walk with our dogs I found some branches massed with this lichen . These were more like twigs than branches but zooming in showed me how lovely it is. Press L !

This extended Winter is a nightmare I rarely go outside at the moment but this little flower is at my front door and I nipped out quickly for a shot.
No wonder the French drink hot spiced wine all day in the ski resorts I tried hot Ribena but its just not the same!

Finally we had a bright day and we went for a long walk with all the dogs .. I spotted this branch and decided it looked like a dog running down the tree held back by its tail.

Such a lovely statue outside the church in the little village where we stayed in France the snow seemed to add to its charm. I can't find out any information on it though.

The Old Prisons or Palais de l'Isle is a fortified house located in the old town of Annecy.
The old prison was modeled after a Galley ship's bow to resemble an anchored warfare vessel in calm waters. Converted to an administrative building, a courthouse, and a mint, convicts were this illustrious buildings last residents.
