St Leonards Chapel Kirkstead c13. The chapel is quite small 44 by 20 feet, and has a w doorway shafted, with lively stiff leaf capitals and dogtooth and vesica window.

Young Ben a whooper swan

This is young Ben a Whooper swan. Ben was found on Queens Park Mablethorpe two years ago on his own. We would go down every day for two months to feed him. Then one day he disappeared! About two weeks later we saw two friends who told us when they came to feed the geese one day they saw two adults whoopers swood down to the lake, landing near young Ben. After several minutes of honking and neck rubbing the three birds flew off together. We believe that either Ben had been left at the lake for his safety or parted from his parents sometime during flight..

Work has at last started on revamping St Mary's conservation pond Mablethorpe. Workmen made a small pond to save the tadpoles. Also 80 newts were rescued.

There is perhaps more than 40,000 tadpoles in the pond but they could be under threat.
Rumour is that council could soon empty the pond killing them all!!!
Lets hope it's nothing more than a rumour?
