This photo was taken from the ferry Ritan M/S just outside Kirkja, which is one of two villages on Fugloy island. Kirkja means Church. My grandfather came from this island and this village. Only 22 people live on Kirkja and 16 in the other village Hattarvík. In winther they are even less, because some of them live a part of the year in Klaksvík. The island in the background is Viðoy with Cape Enniberg at the northernmost point beeing the highest sea cliff of the Faroes and the northernmost point of the Faroe Islands. Cape Enniberg is the second highest sea cliff in Europe with 754 metres.
