This photograph shows a boot and shoe shop, taken at some time in the 1970's in Newcastle upon Tyne.

The image is part of a collection capturing the changing face of Fashion in Newcastle upon Tyne, from the 1940’s to the 1970’s. This collection of photographs can be found in the Turners Collection at Tyne & Wear Archives. Turners Photography Ltd was a commercial photographic company based at 7-15 Pink Lane, Newcastle. The collection is an extensive one, covering all aspects of commercial photography, including many jobs for large advertising firms of the time such as Tully-Crabbe Ltd.

These images have been compiled in contribution to Newcastle Fashion week 2013.

This photograph is part of the Shipbuilding on the River Tyne, 1960 - 1977 collection which was kindly donated to Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums. Taken by Ronald Sanderson, this photograph captures the view of an industrial scene on river Tyne with a ship in dock, with warehouses and cranes. The photograph was probably taken in 1960. It is a 35mm slide.

Taken by Ronald Sanderson, this photograph captures a view of the river probably taken from the Commercial Road area of South Shields, of The Ottawa being launched on the north side of the river as a crowd watches. This photograph was taken in 1960. It is a 35mm slide.

Taken by Ronald Sanderson, this photograph captures a view of the river probably taken from the Commercial Road area of South Shields, of The Ottawa launched into the river and being turned with the aid of the tugs in front of spectators. This photograph was taken in 1960. It is a 35mm slide.
