Felted Purse attempt

I have now completed all the parts needed for the purse. I have purchased some wooden buttons to attach after it is felted.I still need to get a couple buckles for the straps.

I just need to put a couple of pleats in the bottom and it's ready to be felted!

Somehow I have become interested in felted purses. I don't know why. I never carry a purse, I don't even own one!

I found a good tutorial for a simple one on Youtube I thought I could handle......

Here's where I am so far. It's just a big tube at this point.

Also note, I am NOT a knitter! I think I knit a scarf once when I was about 10 years old but that's it!

Found a great way to prop him up to allow some edging pieces to dry...used my big bowl of beads.

Some shading done with acrylics. Decided to do more to the eyes using more Kleenex, glue and water mixture.

After the Kleenex, glue and water mixture dried, I applied drywall compound with a small paintbrush. Still not sure what I will do for the eyes at this point.......

Shaping the face using ripped up bits of Kleenex, glue and water- was just kind of winging it as I went along. Just used what I had on hand-too far to drive to a Michael's store.

Pumpkin Patch

This pumpkin patch is just up the road from me. There are pumpkins as far as the eye can see! There are several fields in the area similar to this and even one with 'white' pumpkins!
Maybe Linus is out there somewhere!

This weekend is our town's 28th annual 'Pumpkinfest' which brings people from all over Ontario.

This weekend is our town's annual Pumpkinfest. It's a big deal here with lots of activities and events from now until Sunday night. This is a picture of one of the pumpkin pyramids that is put up every year. The pumpkins are carved by local school kids. The pumpkins are hollowed out from the bottom instead of the top, and then placed on top of strings of Christmas lights.

This is a picture from a previous Pumpkinfest of 2 of my boys in front of one of the pumpkin pyramids that is put up every year. The pumpkins are carved by local school kids and are lit up at night.

Look what arrived today from Paula in beautiful British Columbia! A super funkified vase/pencil holder. How can you not love those colours?! !
It will soon be adorning my studio table and filled with brushes etc.
