Fifty Shades Of Grey

Last year Gareth, Pete and I were asked to shoot a set of images for a charity calendar. The ladies who were organising the shoot wanted to do something in a "Calendar Girls" style that was a bit of fun and would raise a little money.

Much as I would have liked to shoot this in a studio we actually shot on location, on a farm, in Essex, in November. I wasn't that warm and I was wrapped up in several jumpers and a thick coat. Top marks to the girls for putting up with rain, mud and freezing cold.

This was the image for July. The original idea was to shoot in a sandpit on the farm but it was under about six inches of water. Luckily there was a staging area that we managed to use for the shot.

There is, fairly obviously, a good bit of photoshop work on the background for this shot. I know that the sunburst and rays are really obvious - that's the idea, it was meant to look a bit like a cheeky seaside postcard.

It was a fun day and we are planning the shoot for next year's calendar. We will be shooting inside this time! Many thanks to Leanne for her assistance and to everyone involved for a really fun day.
