I wish I was better at words so I could write an ode to this beautiful part of the world which is Yorkshire Dales, England. I am so lucky and grateful to have such wonderful beauty on my doorstep. This place has been a source of continous happiness and inspiration to me. I hope my love for it shines through this picture.

Taken back in summer, it was just a refreshing shower but I thought I'd save the photo for a more appropriate time of year. Sure enough, that time has arrived, it's been raining every single day!

This table is in my Mum's courtyard. During my recent visit we had a hearty breakfast here every morning, and long chats till late at night. The figs and grapes are grown in the courtyard.

This is Desmond, our new family member. He is a rescue cat, and has adapted really well to his new home. He likes lying on my bedroom window sill first thing in the morning waiting for me to get up and make a fuss of him, and, of course, feed him.

One of five "Armour Boys" by Laura Ford. These are child-sized figures in suits of armour, cast in bronze, found lying as if defeated in battle on the Terrace at Harewood, Leeds, England. They make us consider the plight of child soldiers, fighting in conflicts taking place around the world today.

The park and the lakes were still there...., unchanged, untouched.....just as they were all those years back when I strolled there as little girl holding my Dad's hand. I paused.....stood still in awe faced with familiar beauty.......I felt the long lost childlike happiness......I was the little girl again.
