Sorry for being away for so long but I came down with a bad cold that somehow turned into bronchitis and I ended up in the ER at 12 pm last night. They sent me home and I'm much better now with all the meds they gave me. So tired of laying in bed and on the couch for all those days. I didn't even have energy to go through my pix. ;-(

I got up Saturday morning not really knowing if I was going to go anywhere but here is where I ended up later in the day. I went to the Getty with a couple of friends at the last minute and had a great time. It was nice catching up with them.

I got a little tired during my walk through the arboretum and sat on a bench to have some water and a snack. That's when all the Mallard ducks came over but this one was a bit different. I picked up the camera and took pictures as it stood right at my feet. I'm glad I stopped to take a break. ;-)

I took this in the middle of the day, not my favorite time of day to shoot, but just wanted to give you an idea of one of the gardens. It was wonderful walking down this path with all the beautiful flowers.

Almost looks like I added a filter or pattern but I didn't. He was between a bunch of thin twigs and branches. I was told mating season is mostly over but there's still a few of these guys displaying there wonderful feathers.

I visited the LA Arboretum today and walked around all day. I'd taken a picture of a Red-whiskered Bulbul (Pycnonotus jocosus) a couple of weeks ago at the Huntington Library and Gardens and was told they also hung out here. My visit wasn't really to go searching for these birds but if I came across one that would be great. I was there from when they opened and left when they closed. About one hour before i left I sat near a fountain being that I was so tired and guess who showed up to take a quick bath? LOL It was meant to be.

A little girl asked her dad what they were doing and dad changed the subject and had her look at other flamingos on the other side. LOL
