Svend Wiig Hansen’s monumental sculpture Mennesket ved Havet (Man meets the Sea) is a sculpture of four 9 metre tall men made from white concrete located on the south-west coast of Denmark -
with Sædding Beach and the city of Esbjerg on the backdrop

La Granja, located in Esporles, in the south of Mallorca, near Banyalbufar, is on a site known since Roman
times for its natural spring.
The Arabs, that dominated the island from the X to the XIII centuries, settled in the area and founded the Alpich farmhouse. When King Jaume ♔ conquered Mallorca he divided the island into 4 feudal estates ※, giving one to Count Nuno Sanc, who settled at La Granja.
In 1239 the Count handed the estate to Cistercian monks to found Mallorca's first monastery. ۩♝۩
Since 1447 it has been a private house owned by various noble families.

While visiting La Granja you learn a lot about rural Mallorcan traditions, see spectacular gardens with ponds and fountains and can have a look at workshops, cellars and kitchens containing displays of everyday objects.
There are demonstrations of lace making, embroidery, spinning and - as a reward at the end of the visit -
tastings of cheese, wine, sausages, Buñuelos (doughnuts) and fig cake with almonds. ♨Ψ
