Before a late dinner, I went out and took a few pictures of Piedmont Park. It rained right up until sunset, and the sky opened up nicely. Also, I borrowed my dad's d5100 for some extra resolution.

The sunset was kind of harsh, so I chose a sepia tone. A tripod would have helped that night.

Another turtle picture. It is rare that I see a beautiful creature this large in good light with pretty good visibility. So I took about 200 pictures. Also, it was nice that this area is accessible from the beach.

Chelonia mydas. This species has two distinct populations in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. They are mostly herbivorous and feeds on sea grasses. The largest known weight is 690 pounds.

These turtles were a few hundred feet out from the beach in Barbados; however, it was worth the swim. The turtles were fed by the local tour guides on the island.
