Little experimentation with Silver Efex Pro....usually prefer color but this is one place that looks good with or without color, in any season, any time of the day...don't you agree???

What to "shoot" when the weather's crazy and all other signs of wildlife have disappeared....well, bison, of course. In the Northeast section of Yellowstone, you can always count on plenty of these majestic creatures to enjoy and help pass the time when nothing else is happening. 5 more days and a wake up...cooking's done, suitcase is partially packed, and all the camera gear is ready to go. Time now for a little relaxation :-)

Still going through the archives...this one was photographed in Capitol Reef National Park on a short hike we took to the "Tanks." When I heard the word "tanks," it conjured up a number of thoughts and images, none of which came even remotely close to what we observed...LOL....I suppose in the desert, water pockets or puddles like this constitute a "tank." Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend....and here's to a great week ahead :-) I appreciate all your visits and kind words!!!!

Morning Erupts

One of my all time favorite spots to photograph in the Tetons....every day offers something a little bit different than the day before, and each season offers a different perspective. This one was shot last May, as all the spring colors were emerging, and on this particular morning, the clouds were just hanging over Mt. Moran, giving it an appearance of erupting. Getting up early definitely has its advantages at times :-)

Out of the Shadows

Dawn at Moraine Lake from a slightly different perspective....the large rock pile in the background is where most photographers go to catch the first rays of light hitting the Valley of the Ten Peaks....we hiked up there in the dark, waited for a spectacular sunrise that never emerged, and then decided to wander around the shoreline to see what other treasures we could find....definitely can't go wrong at this amazing location.
