These last few days have been a challenge. It got a lot worse than I ever thought it could yesterday, but there's bound to be a silver lining all over that nonsense.

The rain today is nice, too :)

As scary as it may be to have next-to-zero clients this month, I completely appreciate my nearly-uninterrupted time to think and relax and not stress about things that are going to happen with or without me. I always appreciate having time to edit and not freak out about being late on delivery.

I GOT MY NEW GLASSES!!!!
They finally came in the mail, and I'm SO stoked! I absolutely LOVE them <3

$90 frames for $16 through Coastal.com with their 'first pair free' discount! :D :D

I am SO happy and thankful! I really needed new glasses. I haven't been able to drive for a few weeks now because of how bad my vision got thanks to constant editing and a fairly old prescription. I don't wear glasses while on the computer, thankfully, but I'm SO excited about getting better and seeing more clearly, with and without my updated and glamorous frames ;)

Soooo the water line busted this morning, leaving the entire block without water today. Thankfully I just have to edit all day, so I had a good time taking advantage of not doing dishes, and doing this instead!
I had this random spare-bottle of tap water in the kitchen, so I can use it if I reeeeally need to wash something...

2 YN560s, one camera left (shoot-through umbrella), one camera right (softbox)

UPDATE: YAY! The water is back! Total time without water = approx. 7 hours. Not too shabby.

My GOODNESS I'm busy these days! Thank goodness my 365 project ended a few months ago!

I was in the mood for a quick self-portrait yesterday, amid the chaos of editing. It's been so long!

I'm not exactly feeling uninspired lately. It's more that I just have NO time to do ANYTHING but edit my client work...which is definitely not a bad thing, but it kinda gets in the way of the motivation required to do anything personal and just for fun. Hope the holidays bring big money and very few clients, so I can play in the snow!

TA-DAAA!!!! I've come full circle!!!

Three-hundred and sixty-five days of life captured through the art of having a damn creative ego about me.

I am so happy to be done!!!

As most of you know, this was my second 365-project. It was very, very different from my first. The first time around, I was just jumping out of my skin with creativity and excitement and experiments in photography. I was new to the world of DSLRs and editing like you mean it, and I couldn't have picked a better way to learn and grow.
This time around, I'd not only run out of many ideas...I had very little motivation now that so much of my life was changing. I lost my car, which really restricted my options. I also had a few other bumps in the road which lead to missed photos and cop-outs. But I never gave up. Fuck that. I'd feel horrible about quitting my own project.

And now here I am, all finished and proud :)

Thanks so much for the support, praise, critique and love from all of you, especially on Flickr and Facebook!!!! There are many things I could not have done without your help, in so many different forms.
I look forward to many more years of friendships, new fans, and inspiration! :D Best of luck with YOUR 365 projects, as I know a few of you are still going strong!

This place was just breathtaking!!!! I really am surprisingly unhappy with all three self protrait sessions I had, but hopefully I am just being silly. This was my favorite one, so I'll use it for my 365 of the day, but I may post the other two later :)

I won a sample ( lip gloss #7) from Surgery Defect's facebook giveaway, and I love it!! I pretty much never wear lip gloss anymore, but I really loved the color (and never say no to a giveaway!). I'm pretty stoked!

BOOM!

I'm pretty proud of this one, I must say.

I borrowed my gorgeous friend Jasa and took a trip down to my favorite bus station after dark tp test out my new softbox and umbrella, and just go nuts with absolutely everything I own (minus the reflector). I played with all sorts of combinations of lighting, and I love that this place was already well-lit so I just got to be creative. None of the bus passengers bothered us, the security people seemed down, and even though my gear was scattered EVERYWHERE, there was no problem with random passerby's.

This was actually the end of this part of the shoot, and I aaaalmost wanted to shoot Jasa here, but I decided to just move on because I didn't think I'd have enough space to work any magic here (the camera is RIGHT up against another wall behind it. That's when I remembered I wanted to take an awesome self portrait here. So I went for it, and I LOVE it! Despite my painfully soft low-shutter-speed focus :/

I can't WAIT to edit more photos!

Red and ready :)

I'm getting REALLY excited about my fashion work!!!! I can't wait to connect with local designers and merchants who are interested in having their work showcased in my photos, while I work my way to the top with confidence!

There is just something amazing about knowing that I am working hard, learning and experimenting with all sorts of techniques, and being appreciated the whole time :) I don't think this kind of satisfaction comes easily, especially not from letting money do the work for you.

I am definitely thankful for being brought up the way I have been, with very little of what you are normally raised to 'need', and plenty of everything to get me absolutely anywhere :) It makes the adventure SO much more gratifying!
