sentenced2live Christa's story and photos are truely inspirational. She also appears in the movie summer running: the race to cure breast cancer.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. We've created a new group for 2010 BCA photos and challenge you to add a clever or moving BCA related photo. No simple flowers, boobs or pink ribbon shots please. If you're going to do those try and make them different and interesting!

Also, feel free to share your family, friend and personal stories with the group.

Our goal is to select the most inspirational - supportive works to publish in a book with proceeds going to a BCA charity organization [to be determined by the group]. personally, i'd like to see it go specifically to help fund the ground breaking research going on now towards finding a cure such as this.

this group provides a way to give a homeless person the opportunity to "earn" a few dollars by modeling for you. i met this guy while i was in traffic trying to get out of Plaza Las Americas in Puerto Rico. he was in the bushes looking for something [he told me he was looking for a kitten]. when i asked if i could 'pay' for his picture, he looked at himself in the reflection of my car's backseat window, patted down his hair a little and asked "me veo lindo?" [do i look pretty?] of course, i said "oh, yes" :p

i love bokeh but this was one time i wish the background had been plain. i think it distracts from his face which is interesting enough all by itself. any suggestions???

Not an original idea. Have seen this done before; just my take on it. Done in PS [not blood].

Depressing poem. This is NOT how I feel .. it just fit the photo :p

Life is a prison,
Oh God let me out.
No one to listen,
To hear when you shout.

Climb the walls of insanity,
Ride the waves of despair.
If you fall it don't matter,
There's no one to care.

Used to wish for a window,
To see birds, trees and sky,
But you're better without one -
Stops you aiming too high.

Watching freedom is painful,
For those locked away.
Seeing joy, love and happiness,
Another price that you pay.

Strong is good, weak is bad.
Be it false, be it true.
Your mind makes the choice,
And enforces it too.

Cell walls built by society,
With rules to adhere.
If you breach the acceptable,
You had better beware.

Hide the pain, carry on,
Routine is the key.
Don't let on that you're not,
What you're pretending to be.

Lock it all up inside you,
How badly that bodes.
Look out for that one day,
When it all just explodes.

Leaving naught but a shell,
Base functionality too.
But killing all else,
