Not a great picture but I like the shape of this tree against a nice sky while I was driving home recently.In the backgroubnd are the South Downs.

Having moved from the forest into a more populated area (albeit on the edge of the South Downs) I thought the bird life in my new garden would not include the timid Jay. But having put down peanuts every morning I now have two pairs coming. This isn't a good image .. taken through a mucky window but they are getting so used to me I'll soon be able to photograph them closer and outside.And yes .. thats a barrel from old winery days.

An art installation on the South Downs overlooking the Cuckmere Haven called Peace Camp ... absolutely beautiful with music and poetry. I've been there every night but this morning at dawn it was beautiful with mist rolling along the valley.And there was quite a lot of people there to watch the sun come up. The lone figure in the middle shows the scale of the installation. Looks better
on black.

This ancient figure carved out of the chalk South Downs in Sussex is a major feature and attracts lots of walkers.

HATE THIS NEW FLICKR >>>>>>> I HAVE SIGNED THE PETITION TO GO BACK TO THE OLD STYLE> Anyway this male common seal has arrived on Seaford Bay beach and is causing quite a stir. He has been on local TV and Marine Conservation has put a cordon around him so the many people going to see him won't get too close. They are also putting on a 24 hour watch. The seal is moulting and is quite happy just lying on the beach scratching and being photographed by just about everyone.. It goes into the sea from time to time because there is a lot of mackerel around at the moment.

Not Iceland ..... Birling Gap in Sussex. Its never the same. On this occasion the water not only reflected the blue of the sky but as a result of the chalk looked milky .. very reminiscent in appearance of the blue lagoon in Iceland.

Its been rough seas all week off seaford Bay and the waves have been dramatic. But the other day there was a ray of sunshine. It always amazes me how the seagulls fly so low over the waves...

Another shot of the Peace Camp on Seaford Head overlooking the Cuckmere Valley, Sussex. This was just before the sun came up with people just standing and watching in silence while the poetry and music played.. Though my dog whiich you can just see wasn't impressed!. These shot show better on black.
