I finally have a point 'n' shoot! This was snapped on my way to school today. Although the photo is a JPEG, I edited it in Adobe Camera RAW.

One of my assignments for my photo history class was to do self-portraits. I decided to use rear-curtain sync and dance around my room. When I looked at the photos I noticed that in some of them I seemed to be pointing to a portrait that I took of my Foundation Visual Arts (FVA) academic advisor, Adam MacDonald, so I decided to really play up that fact and interact with the portrait. I then decided to stick my face in front of the camera, à la a casual selfie with a point 'n' shoot.

My photo for the Freedom to Read display at Westminster Books. I tried a couple of different ideas before deciding to show Nineteen Eighty-Four some serious love. I've read the book, and except for the long passages from the rebellion's handbook, I think it's really cool, and the whole thing (long passages included) speaks just as much to our situation today as it did back in 1948, when it was written (the "eighty-four" is just forty-eight reversed).
