Been experimenting with a slightly different way of doing Black Card via Multi-Exposure, thus not requiring an ND filter during the process. It has some promise and rather than create a completely milky looking water, it still has nice suggestion of movement within. It has a slightly less surreal quality to it, and also allows me to build the scene up visually as I create it.

Black card directly into the sun isn't the easiest thing to do, but sometimes it can create interesting results.

I do appreciate good lens flare on occasion, and in this case, combined with the surreal qualities that black card sometimes creates, made for a very alien looking landscape.

Series of photos I took last weekend.

I sometimes get asked if I bump up my saturation levels in my photos. This series of images have all been desaturated or had their vibarancy channels turned down.

What I teach my students when using RAW adjustments in Lightroom or even in Adobe Camera RAW is to focus on making the correct contrast adjustments. If you correct in those areas, you'll not need to increase the saturation or vibrancy settings (if anything you need to turn it down a touch).

I'll be explaining these in an upcoming lightroom tutorial at my blog.
