The Peak Vista From Kota Kinabalu International Airport

Being the tallest condominium block in the city, the Peak Vista Awana (Block A) can be clearly seen from the runway of KKIA. In my opinion, it is rare to see the Peak Vista from such an angle, as it is located 7 km away. Part of the city centre is also visible too.

Finally, after a few years, the tallest condominium in KK has been completed on the exterior, revealing to the city its fantastic exterior with stunning white cladding.

For now, the tower crane still stays, and that has got to be the tallest crane in our city. The early morning sunlight is still yellow, so the white cladding cannot really be seen.

There is a bit of haze in the air as I photographed this from 7 km away in Sulaman area. Anyway, the large balconies facing the north are pretty impressive and imagine the view from the penthouse!

It has been some time that I've not taken update photos for the construction progress of the Peak Vista condominium in Kota Kinabalu. While I was at Sinaran Institute in Menggatal, I was really amazed by how high the Premier Tower went; much, much higher than the completed Deluxe Tower. A portion of Deluxe Tower's shadow is seen on the northern facade of this dominating condominium block.

We stopped by the Likas Bay Public Park to enjoy the windy and beautiful afternoon after having lunch downtown. From there, I could easily notice the Peak Soho rising up. The Peak Condo and the Peak Vista towered behind.

The Peak Soho would be divided into two parts - Block A and block B. Block A would be about 17 stories tall, block B just two floors lower. Though the Peak Soho consists of two blocks, only one tower crane is working on the two blocks

I went up Public Jaya Apartment 1 (all the way to the 5th floor) at the foot of Likas Ridge this morning to see whether the upcoming Peak Soho is visible from that particular angle. I couldn't help but notice the Peak Vista first before looking at the surroundings. The Peak Vista Awana was rather tall, and at that time, the Sun was shining directly on the side facing Likas. exposing its white 'centre wall'. The building coming up below it would be the Peak Soho. I was rather surprise with how it looked it because it seemed rather 'flat'. Most likely its due to the almost midday Sun. Likas Square is on the left, and on the right would be Wisma Perindustrian. The cranes working for Pacific City can be seen in front, and even a portion of the Bay21 Condominium is visible on the far right.

From where I pulled over along Likas Bay, I could get a clear view of the Signal Hill Collection development. This 'collection', from SBC Corporation, consists of several blocks and phases of residential condominiums, such as the Peak, the Peak Vista, the Peak Suites, Signal Hill Park, and now under construction, the Peak Soho.

The Peak Soho would be divided into two parts - Block A and block B. Block A would be about 17 stories tall, block B just two floors lower. Though the Peak Soho consists of two blocks, only one tower crane is working on the two blocks. The Peak Soho is coming up really fast, and I'm sure it would be another good looking building in the Likas Bay skyline in the future.

We decided to explore the new access road to the Sabah State Assembly Building near Tanjung Lita this morning. Before the entrance to the assembly building grounds, there was a carpark area with a good view of Likas Bay. The Peak Vista complex towered clearly over the coastline, where little dots (actually cars) can be seen moving. On the left, the Peak Soho can be seen coming up. A portion of the city centre is visible behind Signal Hill from this angle. If one were to observe really carefully, they could make out the top of Gaya Centre Hotel over Suria Sabah. The ports area would be on the extreme right of this photo.

I never thought I would see such an angle here from Shantung Hill. I had to walk a few meters away from the main road to see this, as a nearby slope had blocked the view. I couldn't go in further for a higher and more unobstructed view as I would be then trespassing onto private land.

From this angle, four blocks of well known condominiums in KK city can be spotted, and they all seem to be so close to each other. Actually, the 3 blocks in front are Alam Damai and Puteri Damai, while the two taller ones behind is the Peak Vista. Its really an interesting angle from here.

I stopped by at Sinaran Institute again today and went up to the 5th floor. It was a clear morning and the distant view of the newly completed Peak Vista Awana is just amazing. It is the tallest condominium block in the city. The morning Sun shone on its northern facade revealing the architectural details of this luxury condo block.

Finally, the stunning 28 storey luxurious Premium Tower is completed. The facade facing east just amazes me. It dwarfs the Peak Condominium. If you look closely, you can spot the large, spacious balconies. For now, the tower crane still stays over the tower. This is photographed from STTSS.

These few months, it has been really interesting to observe the final stages of completion of the 28-storey Peak Vista Awana. Also known as Premium Tower, the tower is about 90% revealed as the construction scaffolding is taken down.

The balconies facing the north is rather large, and the penthouse units can be easily identified, even from kilometres away. By next week, the tower would be fully revealed, when viewed from the north. This is photographed from the 5th floor of Sinaran Institute.

It was a very, very hot morning as I made my way up to the peak of Bukit Padang today. There was a slight haze over the city but I just wowed at the sight of the completed Premium Tower.

Also known as the Peak Vista Awana (or Block A), it is the tallest condominium in the city, at 28-storeys high. It is undoubtedly taller than the neighbouring Deluxe Tower. It just looks so tall from Bukit Padang.

I've made close observations and I can see that the top of the block is actually higher than the peak of Bukit Padang, making it tower over 180 metres above sea level!

The Peak Vista Awana, also named Premium Tower, is currently the tallest building in the city (due to its location on Signal Hill). It is 28 storey high and I can say, it is a very high-end condominium. The construction netting has mostly been taken down and there is still a small portion left. I photographed this from Sinaran Institute in Menggatal. Notice the gigantic balconies on the top part? That's the penthouse part.

The construction scaffolding clearing works for the Peak Vista Awana (also called Premium Tower) is completed for the north-eastern corner of the tower. The huge, gigantic balconies on the northern facade is revealed and boy, the view would be fantastic from up there! Now, I can have a rough idea on how the tower would look like exterior-wise once it is fully completed. This is photographed from the 5th floor of Sinaran Institute.

I continued walking along Bersatu Road to view how the new Peak Vista Awana looked like. Half of the eastern side has its construction scaffolding taken down, making it now 'half revealed'. The southern side is still covered, and it would take another few weeks before that part of the block would be revealed. The bush around the area is growing quickly and soon, they would block the view of the three condominium blocks.

The Peak Vista is the tallest development in the city of Kota Kinabalu and can be seen from various parts of the city outskirts. After breakfast this morning, I headed to one of the blocks at Kolam Centre to see whether the Peak Vista Awana can be seen . Incredibly, levels 16-28 can be spotted over the treetops. The northern half of the eastern side can now be seen clearly. A bit of the shorter Deluxe Tower can also be seen here. Rain clouds were leaving the city as I took this.

During this current time frame, the 28-storey luxurious Peak Vista Awana, which is also the Premium Tower, is slowly being unveiled and revealed to the city of Kota Kinabalu as it towers over Signal Hill. The green construction netting on the north-eastern corner is still being taken down, and now works are at the 10th floor. From this angle, it can be seen that the balconies facing the north are pretty large, where as the northern side of the Deluxe Tower lacks balconies. This is taken from the 5th floor of Sinaran Institute.

In the period of March-April 2012, the Peak Vista Awana (also known as Premium Tower) was slowly being 'unveiled' to the city as construction scaffolding has begun to be taken down. Likas Stadium offers one of the most unbeatable views of the Peak Vista project. The condominium block, which is 28 floors high, has long topped out and the tower crane should be taken down in few weeks time. The Premium Tower looks a lot like the neighbouring Deluxe Tower, on the right. Except that it is thinner but taller.

It is now an interesting time to observe the Peak Vista Awana (also called Premium Tower) as it is almost fully cladded, and the green construction scaffolding is currently being taken down on the north-east corner of the tower. This means that the exterior of the tower block start to be revealed.

The best place to view it now would generally be from the north. As of today, the scaffolding clearing works has progressed down to the 19th floor.
In the evening, it moved one floor down to the 18th storey.

This is photographed from the 5th floor of Sinaran Institute, which is a good place to view the Premium Tower.

I now can conclude that the Yang Yun Building is the best place to get a clear, nice view of the Peak & the Peak Vista Condominium, which are about 3 km away. The afternoon February sun shone on the southern facades of these condominiums. In this photo, the Premium Tower is clearly topped out already and is really massive compared to its neighbours. Bayshore Condominium Phases 1-3 can be seen at the bottom left. The abandoned detached house at Signal Hill is spotted too!
