John and Jean on acclimatization hike with Kibo (the highest of Kilimanjaro's 3 volcanoes) in the distance. The trail we will take the next day crosses the saddle behind us on the way to Kibo hut. Marangu route, Mt Kilimanjaro National Park, Tanzania.

Kibo, the highest of Kilimanjaro's 3 volcanoes. The trail to the summit is barely visible in the middle of the photo. It switch backs up the steep scree slope for 5 miles and gains 3,820'. Uhuru, Kilimanjaro's true summit, is visible at upper left. Marangu route, Mt Kilimanjaro National Park, Tanzania.
