This was the first time I had been down to this spot and thankfully was treated to a nice sunrise. My pano-head got a bit of a workout through the morning, this being one of the earlier shots.

Taken from the cliffs at Kangaroo Point, a popular Brisbane photographic location which typically offers great shots of the city reflected off the river, although as you can see I was after a slightly different take on the city lights. I first looked for a section of the cityscape that offered a good range of colors.

I ditched the tripod and set the camera up to give myself a good exposure time. After that it was a bit of trial and error to get the required effect, I started by initially focusing on the city lights, panning down and focusing out at the same time. Apart from some extra contrast added after this was all created in camera.

Another Panorama of Hoiser Lane In Melbourne, I knew I would have to do some multiple exposures to get the light boxes that are setup along the wall. I originally shot this as a HDR panorama, but the resulting image really didn't work( a common occurrence for me) so I did a panorama with both the mid and under exposed shots and then layered the light boxes through.

Was a spur of the moment decision to go out the other morning, thankfully it paid off and it was a great sunrise. An hour plus in ankle deep cold water was worth it.

Cropping and sharpening, but other than that straight from the camera, enjoy.

I have been playing around with creating some abstract bokeh effects. Its kind of nice to try and get a shot puposefully out of focus as opposed to worrying about a small part of the frame not beeing crystal clear.

Some small cropping but other than that striaght from the camera.

On my recent trip to Melbourne I made some time to visit St Paul's Cathedral, I had seen some photos before and really liked the interior. The afternoon sun made for some great light, this is one of many HDR shots I took.

I was recently down in Melbourne for work and of course took my camera gear down to try and get a few shots. This shot was originally intended to be a HDR panorama, I stood there for about 30 minutes taking all the shots, but when I finally merged all the shots and stitched it together I wasn't really that happy with the result. In the end I only used the middle exposure and made some tweaks in PS, and thankfully it turned out much better than the HDR one, enjoy!

Looking across the Kamo River...

Pontochō is one of the traditional entertainment and nightlife district of Kyōto. It is just a, long, narrow, stone-paved alley running between Sanjō-dōri and Shijō-dōri Avenues, along the western bank of the Kamo river.

The name Pontochō is said to be a blend of the Portuguese word "ponto" (meaning point), or possibly "ponte" (bridge), and the Japanese word "chō" (meaning town, street, or road).

Japanese taxis are pretty impressive, they are super clean, the drivers are so helpful, and there seems to be about 5 per person in japan. I wonder how the drivers manage to make a living at it!
