An old well loved toy. I like his happy face and lovely smile. There are so many
teddy bears that look so sad that it's lovely to see one with a smile.

SuperTed was a series of stories and a television series.
He's a Welsh teddy bear who has superpowers and he and his friend Spotty try
to do good.

Another view of the block of six telephone boxes opposite Cavendish House in the Promenade
in Cheltenham. I'm surprised at what a poor condition they're in.

Quarter Moon

The Moon has reached the first quarter of it's phase, but it's been so cloudy, misty, foggy and
rainy that I haven't been able to see it! I took this photo on leap day 29th February 2012 when
the Moon was at a similar phase as it is now. I love the way that the craters show up so well
on the terminator when the sun is shining at an angle.

Montpellier Rotunda

This is the lovely dome in the ceiling of Montpellier Rotunda in Cheltenham. Built in
1817 as Montpellier Spa, the dome was added in 1826 over the circular assembly
room.Originally a Pump room with reading room and billiard room the building is now
a banking hall. It's the most beautiful bank I've ever been into!

I've wanted to take a barbed wire shot for a while, but hadn't been able to find any. So when
I saw this on an industrial estate with a blue sky behind it, I got my camera out!

Gold postbox for Olympian Alex Gregory

One of the things on my list to see when I went to Cheltenham last week was
it's gold postbox. Just as I got there, the postman got out of his van and started
to empty it!

This box was painted gold in honour of Alex Gregory and his Olympic gold medal
winning performance in the Men's Four Rowing. The box is in the Upper High Street.

Among the shops in Montpellier Walk in Cheltenham there are lots of caryatids. They are
sculpted female figures acting as architectural supports used instead of columns or pillars.
They're based on the classical models in Athens. It's good to see them newly painted and
being looked after.

I saw these enormous jars of sweets when I was wandering around the shops in Bournemouth.
It was my second trip to Bournemouth in a two week holiday in Dorset and as soon as I got there,
the heavens opened and it poured with rain for the rest of the day! So my planned walk on the
beach and paddle in the sea changed into a look round the shops which I enjoyed. It was the
only day that my plans were rained off, so I was very lucky.

This weeks theme in 52 week project is REPETITION and/or PATTERNS. I went out for a walk
to see what I could find and spotted these at the local garage. It's interesting how something
as mundane as tyres can make something beautiful when they're piled up together like this.

Isn't this scarecrow wonderful! I saw it when I went to the National Trust property
Wightwick Manor near Wolverhampton. He has Union Flags for the Queen's Jubilee,
medals for the Olympics, a sunflower to represent a charity, and I love his stitched
pumpkin head. He made me smile!

The theme for Week 30 in the 52 week project I'm doing is Double Exposure/Composite Photography.
I took one shot of the Malvern Hills and one of the Moon and put them together with PicMonkey.
Wouldn't it be amazing if the Moon really was this big!

Raindrops on a poppy

There has been so much rain in the UK so far this summer that we've got soaked every time we
went out, and so many events have had to be cancelled. But I have found one good thing about
the rain which is raindrops on flowers which look so beautiful! This gorgeous poppy grew in my
garden in a little patch of them so that I was able to pop out every morning and take photos of
the new ones that had just flowered.

The good news today is that the jet stream, which has been causing all the rain by being south
of the UK, has now moved north of us to where it should be so we might get some sunny summer
weather now!

The Tamworth pig is a 'vulnerable' breed in the UK as there are fewer than 300 registered breeding
females. It's among the oldest breed of pigs but as with many older breeds it isn't well suited to
modern production methods

I photographed this piglet at Clive's Fruit Farm near Upton upon Severn.

I like sheep. There's something friendly about them, but I do find taking photos of them difficult.
As soon as they see me pointing a camera at them, they usually turn around and I don't want to photograph their bottoms! I tried to stay hidden by the hedge to take this and it must have worked
as they carried on munching their grass.
