Late 1950s to early 1960s styling with modern standards of comfort, safety and performance, the Nissan Figaro was originally to have a production run of only 8,000 vehicles when it was introduced in 1991. Eventually 20,000 were produced, with potential buyers even then having to enter a lottery to get the chance to purchase one. It was sold only in Japan but increasing numbers have made their way to the UK

With a turbo-charged 1Litre engine and a 3-speed automatic gearbox, the retro-styled Figaro was based on the Nissan Micra, just a new body and slightly faster. Power steering, electric windows and air-conditioning were all standard, as was the special CD player in a faux-bakelite finish.

The car originally came in just four colours, each representing a season of the year: topaz mist, emerald green, pale aqua and lapis grey.

Day #206 - Daisy Duke's Car Wash

Today Daisy sudsed up her 'Little Ole Peugoet' for the last time. It's been a great car for me and I was sad to see it's new owner drive it off my drive for the last time, it's en route to Newquay in Devon. It's main duty, it would seem, will be to transport a Surfbabe's 'Longboard' to which ever beach has the best surf! Sounds like more fun than I showed it!

I'm off now, to do my shift at the Boar's Nest, cos Boss Hogg says he'll let Bo and Luke Duke off all the bad things they gone did today, if I waitress for him one more time!

I was trying to get a neat reflection of an old building in this road, reflected in the bike, then this car passed behind me, but I love how you can see it so many times and the distortion, especially along the bike's exhaust.

This could be #1 in my 100 strangers!

Thanks to everyone for looking at my last day's image, I got up extra early and hoped no-one would be about, but as Id almost finised two guys pulled up in their van, right in front of me. Drawn by the number plate, and 'a girl in licorice legs' they decided that was the place to start their 'leaf-blowing' new years eve duty.

This man was really friendly. I just couldnt explain what and why I was doing what I was doing for laughing. My feet were freezing in those fins too. But I asked him to pose for a photo for me.

His name is Ray.

I'm elated, ecstatic and a little sad. I've finished this amazing project. Thanks to all my visitors and friends who came along. Also big thanks to Travelinjim, Cirkusprinsesse and Amiko, who got me hooked on the idea, by following them.

A quick snap and a late upload...forgive me? It's on account of I worked for a full 6 hours yesterday... on my final message to you. (New Year's Eve).

Point of little interest : (on the whole) I hate personalised number plates, I think they are well cheesy and would rather spend the cash on a whole heap of things. The ones that really befuddle me are those where you really have to think to work out what they are or mean, or those that really dont work at all.

True fact : There is a car I've seen driving around my town, which reads...
PEN15 , and yeah... it's a big red thing (clearly compensating for something) You just have to ask 'why' ? !
