When I graduated high school, my parents bought me a video camera. I took it and filmed some of the damage I did as well as graffiti around Hialeah. Then I went around to all the active pennets (Malibu, Airport, Griffin, DAM tracks). Thanks to COMA for the digital transfer.

Easter Saturday with FUZER

Upon sketching this piece, I really tried to loosen up and let go of being confined by closing my letters. As for painting it, this wall is probably the worst wall to paint such straight lines on. It's pregnant 3 times! None the less I'm pretty satisfied with how it came out. Really feeling how the 3d on the 'a' falls into the 'N'.

What do you think?

We had painted this wall on the roof of the Bakehouse facing I-95 the year before but I was really not into how it came out so I rode RUNS into getting us to paint it again.

Not often do I do a color comp before painting. I thought I'd give it a try. Upon painting, I don't think I had that mid-tone between the yellow and white so I made it work with what I had. Color scheme based off the Miami HEAT's home jerseys. They were about to start their playoff series against the Celtics, which they lost (but this year.......)

I hadn't participated in an event for a long while and this one was definately the mothership. Our spot was surrounded by the IRONLAK team to one side, MEAR behind us, and TACKS on the other.

I can't thank THREAT and TYPOE enough for the chance to paint and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can get back out there again this year. I got to meet a bunch of local guys out there who's work I admire. I also got my car lightly dusted by HOX while he was preparing a wall.

As for execution, I think there were a couple missteps I took on this: the 'E' is entirely too large. Also I kind of got lost with what I was doing behind the 'N' on top.

If you were in the scene in Miami, you knew OILS. He was a polarizing type of guy and some of the guys I ran with weren't his biggest fans.

Over the years we'd see each other out and about and chill, drink, he'd dance, talk shit, etc. He also dicked me over a few times which we'd laugh over later on. I did this sketch when I heard he had passed.

This sketch was all ballpoint pen with one or two whiteout strips.

Quite satisfied that I pulled this one off and you get a self portrait of me as an astronaut.

For this production, we had the concept of painting a wheatpaste poster. Right between my 'B' and 'A' is a seam that doesn't match up correctly. We also added a glazed look over the whole wall with transparent white. The color composition came out to be somewhere between Tron and Bugs Bunny....

Sketch was done while on the clock....well right before the clock ran out (I was fired a few weeks later)

Although there are quite a few mistakes in the execution of this, the 'E' sits way too high, I am happy with how this went overall.

I had a quote underneath this sketch from Pat Riley that got cropped off. It was from a speech he gave to Tim James, a former player who graduated from UM and didn't last long in the NBA. Turns out he ended up enlisting in the service and was stationed in Iraq.
The quote goes:

"A man's greatest fear is of extinction. It should be fear of extinction with insignificance. What you are doing matters."

Art show at Purdy Lounge that some of the DAM guys put me down on in late 2005-2006. I never got it back and have no idea if it sold or what.

The RMachine production was pretty much to let people know we're still alive. The piece itself has a lot of pipes coming in and out of it. The green stuff is acid bubbles eating away at the solid finish. I put up TEM, a friend I had lost ealier that year (RIP Alex Del Bueno).

The art of constructing a production is something not too many crews down here can complete. Although we were all a bit rust, we were successful in pulling it off.

Finally I had an opportunity to paint again after 2-3 years. Finally.

I had been called up the night before by some of my boys saying they had this wall. Some of the guys were in from out of town and they wanted to run a full prodo. Sounded good to me so I hit up RUN and let him know what's up.....

Well, as you can see it didn't work out that way. I had a lot more rust on me than I anticipated. Half of the homies showed up and half of the one's that did show up, painted. Half of those finished...... The pic is skewed because there's a pole right in front of us.

This wall was rightfully gone over fairly quickly.

SEFER helped us with the background (mainly the center area: elephant and warriors beneath him, along with a tower) and was offered a spot for a piece, which he declined.

After painting this wall I kind of rested on my laurels and concentrated on other things in my life, mainly on earning a living. I also lost my father, went to jail, and lost my sister. I do feel that this came out on par with The Graff Armada wall and am proud of the result.

It's 2010 and this wall is still running so that has to say something although there is always something hanging from barbed wire in front of this piece like filthy bum clothes. The fans have spoken and it's nothing nice.

While painting this wall, the guy that owned the building at the time had bred a chow-chow with a pitbull and was trying to sell off the puppies. Cute dogs but shit man, talk about predestined for trouble....Also one day some dude came up and asked us if we had a blackbook. ULT had his and the guy thumbed threw it and gave us props on the wall. Then he asked for a scrap can and bombed the wall in front of this one. It was REVOLT.

This wall was my taste of doing a production with DAM crew and suffice to say, my last time painting with them while pushing the crew. There were a lot of concepts that were put up and gone over without and consideration and I wasn't really down for that.

Yeah, this one is spread out and all over the place but I wanted you to see how small I was sketching at the time. This is a regular sheet of 8.5'x11'. Yeah it's pretty economical when you draw this small. It also makes everything very tedious. I think it reflected a lot on how we were painting on walls as well.

Ok, the top sketch was done at ESON's wall in Opa-Locka Sept 2004. You can see from the dating on the top that I sat on this sketch almost a year before painting it. It is also the first time I started pushing DAM.

I always enjoy painting with COMA for the reason that he's the dude that really got me started into this. He helped me do my first piece back in 1994. Whenever I can drag him back out somewhere to paint, I will.

I'm guestimating the exact year but I think 2004 is about right. My good friend Jimmy, who is the same Jimmy that gave me the scanner to complete this project, worked out of Ken Cameron's South Beach Tattoo and I would always hang out down there. Anyway this Turkish dude with dreads was working there for a while who was a B-Boy and wanted me to sketch something up for his leg. He ended up moving away before I finished it but here it is none the less.

The finished piece was done in 2005 but the sketch was a little older. While I was in FIU, only in attendance by the way my mind was all over the place, I was in their Hip Hop club where I made lifelong friends like SEMPROCK, DJ MANUVERS, EURO (who I've lost touch with) and SCROLLS. SCROLLS went on to become an English teacher somewhere in southwest Miami. Being the know-it-all he is, he knew he had some writers in one of his classes and brokered a deal with them where if they did their assignments he'd pass off their blackbooks to me (I'm pretty sure they were the DAE kids, not positive though). Well, here is one of them.

Back to the piece on the wall. I was really into going out drinking all night around this time and really wasn't very focused at all which you can see by the lax execution. This was the second piece I did at this wall, which was in a lot behind ESON's job. I believe there were a lot of kids who had been going out there and when we showed up, he really went off on FUZE. When FUZE explained to him who we were, we'd never met prior, he felt semi-embarrassed.

Right after the invasion of Iraq, ELEX and I decided to do a war relevent production. He helped me a lot with this sketch like with the connection from the 'B' to the 'N', and the add on to the 'E'.

This wall is short and wide so the height of the sketch forced me to leave a lot off. The purple was buff, which was the first time I used buff for fill. The radioactive symbol was a symbol for RM (radioactive man)
