Peekaboo!

Josh Liba posted a photo:

Something about this picture makes me so very happy.
Babies always make me smile, but getting them to smile is sometimes another matter.

I wanted some soft window light for her precious little face, but I also wanted an expression, something genuine. How to get her by the window with a real smile? ...Maybe if we play peekaboo with the white curtains?

The first "Boo" evoked a little smirk.

The second "Boo" a full smile.

And the third, miraculous "BOO!"... This!

Joy of joys! Triumph! Huzzah!

That's not to say kids don't get bored quickly though. She didn't stay for a fourth "Boo" and she ran off, leaving me there behind the curtain alone. -_-

...and we're back!

I've been tagged by My Pantomime!

10 things you may not know about me:

1. I am, and always hope to be, one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I proudly stand with one of the most criticized, banned, hated, and largely misunderstood people in the history of the world. I have great faith and confidence that it is the truth. And whether anyone else feels I am wrong or right, there is no denying I would be a worse person without it. [/religion]

2. Following the old adage, "Jack of all trades. Master of none," I find that I posses many basic skills. But I wish there was just one thing I was the best at.
Like... concentrating.

3. Half my room is cheap IKEA furniture, or ugly couches with manly black velvet covers. The other half is thousands of dollars in glossy black electronics. Gotta be balanced, I guess.

4. Until my teens, I was absolutely terrified about going on any roller coaster that went upside down. Now I won't ride on anything unless it has a barrel roll.

5. I wish, somehow, Splash Mountain ended with a barrel roll.

6. I have this recurring dream where I fly like Superman, but when it comes to show people, I can barely float a few feet. I try really hard, and it feels like I'm tightening my abs and holding my breath, fighting for each inch that I climb off the ground. And for some reason, they're not impressed at all that I can levitate a slight bit. Like "Psh, everyone can do that."

7. I'm a hopeless romantic, and I'm not going to Paris ever again unless I'm with someone! Torture!

8. One time, and only one time in 6th grade, I was dared to eat fried crickets and mealworms. Oddly, it tasted alright. The thought of eating insects was more repulsive than the taste. I will not lie and say arbitrarily that it tasted like chicken. It didn't. It tasted like chewy bread.

9. I was always a good kid in school. But in Kindergarten, I wreaked havoc and chaos by switching all the names on the class cubby holes. The teacher only found out it was me because I switched everybody's name but my own. Brilliant.

10. As a technician, I administrate a large group of computers. It has more than once crossed my mind to intentionally crash a cute girl's computer remotely and then come save the damsel in distress. Clever? Yes. Would I ever do it? ...I'd like to believe I'm better than that. But by the same principle, cute girls with back problems should NOT visit young male chiropractors. -_-"

Thanks for reading!
Hope you're not totally sick of me now!

I know I am!
