We've had more than our share of rain recently. Today would be a great day to go see the tulips (blue sky with scattered clouds) but I know there'll be lots of tourists.

My fourth owl species to photograph. I didn't think he was ever going to wake up. I had to squat/sit on the ground to see him under the branches and because he was so close to the ground - maybe around 5' up or so. These guys are only about 7 inches.

My First Short Eared Owl

I started off getting up at 3:30 and after awhile, going up to Boundary Bay; back to Skagit County and home. At Boundary Bay I was the only one in that area that early and I was taking photos of a Snowy Owl. Alone at least half hour. All of a sudden someone was behind me and he said "You can get closer." Mr. Asshole walked about 10' closer and the Snowy took off. Thank you Mr. ... Had to stop to wait for a Great Blue Heron walking across the road (loved it) saw lots of bald eagles. Back home and saw my first Short Eared Owl and at least 10 more. They are cute and feisty! Lots of photos to go through but since I've been up so long, all I want to do is lay on the couch, watch some mindless tube, and fall asleep!
