Another container I've planted in a rock-garden style.

Contents: black sweet William (Dianthus negrescens), dragon's blood stonecrop (Sedum spurium "dragon's blood"), Thai basil (Ocmium basilicum) (just sprouted, at back), concrete chunks, some random (unidentified) bulbs that didn't manage to flower, in here for storage.

The sedum should turn a dark red, and the basil will have dark purple stems and pale purple flowers (we will let it flower for the bees).

I've also planted up my old watering-can container in a rock-garden style.

The sedum should turn a dark red, and the sweet William flowers will be a crimson kind of colour.

Contents: thyme (Thymus vulgaris), creeping thyme (Thymus serpyllum), black sweet Wiliam (Dianthus negrescens), silver mound artemisia (Artemisia schmidtiana), hen and chicks (Sempervivum sp.), concrete chunks, solar lights.

Some of the thyme plants are old ones that went woody over winter. I like how they've developed a gnarled, weathered, "bonsai" appearance.

I turned some of my ornamental containers into a mini rock garden thid year. I also have a new phone and am playing around with the panorama function.

In this garden are several varieties of thyme, some black sweet Williams, some sempervivum, and silver mound Artemisia. The "rocks" are chunks of concrete we took from where they had torn up the street nearby to do repairs.

Under one of the bridges along the trail, water has seeped down over the wall, depositing dirt and minerals in a streaky pattern.

One of four large sculptures in the Archibald Fountain. Accordng to the artist, Sicard, this one "represents Diana, goddess of purity, of peaceful nights, symbol of charity; the ideal which watches over mortals - all that stands for poetry and harmony."
