I lived in California for most of my life and NEVER made it to Descanso Gardens until a recent trip! The roses, not only at this botanical garden, but in the surrounding neighborhoods were beyond incredible!!!! Just breathtaking! A texture from Darkwood67 was used here.

Taken out my car window...I was wandering alone...pulled over, rolled the window down and grabbed the shot. Back roads where cars are uncommon...great photo opportunities! The air was heavy with humidity and the bugs were singing wildly!

I had the recent unfortunate experience of a failed motherboard on my laptop. Still under warranty, the laptop ultimately had to be replaced. I'm a crazy woman for keeping e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. backed up on external hard drives, so while I didn't lose any docs or photos, I still had the laborious task of customizing the new equipment with all my favorite Photoshop plug-ins, brushes, actions, etc. It served to renew my interest in post processing. I still shoot sporadically (the camera, that is) - but I'm not always willing to take the time to post process my work. I know it's there waiting for me - and it sits patiently and waits for me.

If you have or use any of the Topaz products, I really hope you take advantage of their Webinars - or the archived Webinars that are available to you 24/7 on their site. Wow! All I can say is "WOW"! I've attended a couple of their live sessions in recent weeks - and my curiosity was tickled to check out others that I've missed. We all know the program(s) are wonderful, but when you watch others who demonstrate their workflows and tips and tricks, it opens up a whole new world of possibilities!

I love to learn new things and apply it to photos that have sometimes been sitting and waiting for me to love them again. LOL I did that here. It was taken last summer when vegetation was plentiful and the temps were warm and wonderful. In the middle of winter, this looks quite stunning. It didn't seem so stunning to me back then. It's all relative, I suppose.
