Our campsite at night with a bright moon really lighting it up. It was amazing how bright the long exposures turned out to be, it almost looks like daytime, with stars.

Utah Potholes

A pothole in this setting is a circular area that collects water. Most potholes are small, just inches deep. This one is probably 30 feet deep with who knows how much water at the bottom.

Looking closely at this picture scares me. She seems too close to the edge. It was a fun place to hike though and the formations and views were pretty sweet. This was along some of the slickrock fins rising up out of the campgounds in the BLM Sand Flats campground area near Slickrock Bike Trail.

Night at camp - stars show in large

The campsite at night under the bed of stars with the light of Moab peeking along the southern horizon. It's easy to go out and hike around at night when it's this nice out, even if it was below freezing. The moon was about half full and gave plenty of light to see by.

In the large size you can even see the motion of the stars in the sky in the 30 second shot.

MS Gulf Beach

We spend a couple days on the beach in Gulfport, Mississippi. The beaches were nice powdery white sand and the water was warm and calm.

Moab Extreme Night

This was in the middle of the night when it was totally dark out. The moon was bright though and I took a long exposure with a fast lens and got something that amazed me. It looks like broad daylight, but you can see stars and the lights of a car going by. Crazy.

Windy Moab Night

It was very windy while I was out doing some long night exposures. So windy that my tripod was blowing around, which made it so I couldn't do most of what I wanted. I could do this though, get some shots of the fast moving clouds on this bright night. I had fun taking these.

We go to the mountain bike capital of the world and what does she want to ride each day? Her scooter, not her bike. She's good with it though and can handle some speed and bumps on that thing.

The girls pull out the sand toys and head for the sand dunes in the desert in Idaho. The park is Bruneau Dunes State Park.
