In the early 1990s, Hot 'n Now hamburger drive-thrus popped up just about everywhere in Wisconsin. With one exception (Marshfield), all of them have since shut their doors...and the buildings themselves have been converted to house just about anything and everything imaginable.

This particular Hot 'n Now (near Green Bay's East Town Mall) is now home to a dry cleaner's business, of all things. Architecturally, it's a carbon copy of the west-side location that now houses a loan shop. (1996 picture here.)

Hot 'n Now Burgers was the name of a fast-food enterprise that originated in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1984. After a bit of organic expansion around the Great Lakes, Hot 'n Now was swallowed up by PepsiCo...which sprinkled franchises coast to coast, couldn't decide what to do with the chain, and gave up on the venture after about five years. The chain was ultimately spun off, and has been slowly dwindling to irrelevance ever since.

While open, Hot 'n Now had an emphasis on fast service and low prices. This particular location was built in 1992 and features two drive-thrus and no indoor seating. Some people still miss them...
