Simpson went on to earn the first Ph.D. in anatomy conferred in the University of California (1921), and a Ph.D. in medicine from Johns Hopkins University. She taught anatomy at the University of California from 1923 to 1961.&lt;br /&gt;

Simpson went on to earn the first Ph.D. in anatomy conferred in the University of California (1921), and a Ph.D. in medicine from Johns Hopkins University. She taught anatomy at the University of California from 1923 to 1961.&lt;br /&gt;
