Here I used Flypaper Tintype 18 (overlay 89%) and Tintype 25 (soft light mode 100%)...for a nice vintage effect.

something found in my archives from last year...I had just gotten a new bouquet of flowers from my florist soI took a series of images on the black coffee table with the light from the living room window behind me...using my 24-70mm f/2.8L lens which I rarely seem to use and it is such a good lens too. Plus I realize that I was able to get some Nigella from the florist in June of last year...so maybe will be able to get more again this June...coming up!

at San Joaquin Wildlife Reserve... I got one shot of him...and was shooting into / thru leaves, etc. so I guess I got pretty lucky to have gotten a 1/2 way decent shot of him at all before he took off! Plus handheld 1/500s .. bad light...all kinds of stuff..I still like it anyway...especially all the greenery...pretty sure this in another new life bird...but it is possibly I've seen one before I think, but not sure!

Well, looks like I'll finally have a bit more time for editing, as the birds are thinning out at the bean field now...have not seen the Lazuli Bunting for over a week now...saw just one Nutmeg Manniken over the last week...and when I went late yesterday afternoon, I didn't even see the grosbeaks at all....looks like we are back to the usual suspects I guess...happy that I have gotten a ton of good shots though...this has been my happiest spring for birding yet!

today I tested out my new 2x Teleconverter III generation....amazing how fast it will auto focus...a huge improvement over the II generation one...! this coopers hawk was looking for dinner at the beanfield...but the blackbirds chased him off...Speaking of the blackbirds, yesterday morning I saw a baby one on the pathway, he did not look ready to be out of the nest yet either...I hope he found his way back to the nest after he hobbled back into the wild mustard! I did take a few picks of him, but it was already 10:30 a.m. and the sun kinda high up already, so the pics didn't do him any justice!

Looks tasty! I was so close to him .. I can't believe he let me take so many shots before he decided to fly off...cropped on long side from 4896 to 4800...so that gives you an idea of how close I was. Many of the latest shots i've cropped from 4896 (long side) to 4500 x 3000 pixel to bring them in a little closer...

Finally got some within the wild radish flowers that are also growing along with the wild mustard flowers that have been in most of my latest bird shots. I missed a chance to get the Common Yellowthroat perched inside these wild radish flowers too yesterday...soon as I raised my cam/lens up..off he flew...it coulda woulda been a nice capture too...oh well, something to look forward to ...

I don't recall ever capturing a hummingbird quite in this position! Shoulders back! Put a couple more shots of the Common Yellowthroat below too...I've zillions of new bird pics since going almost every day for the last three weeks...plus all the hummingbird shots taken in April...

Yay! Happy to get a nice shot of the female this afternoon...was bummed though, because I've not seen the blue grossbeak or the lazuli bunting (also blue)..for several days...I hope they are still there somewhere.....was lucky to have gotten shots of them at all!
