Always His Call......

BigBoyDrums (www.hectorcruzphoto.com) posted a photo:

Lighting Info:

AB1600 in 22" Beauty Dish Camera Right
AB1600 Camera Left Lighting the B-Ball Basket
Nikon SB800 Behind Subject Lighting Up The Other B-Ball Basket
Cybersyncs

This is a shot of my friend Rod, he is a referee and LOVES basketball. He is a huge LAKERS fan...Purple and Gold Baby!!!! I had this shot in my head for quite some time, so I asked if Rod would help me by posing for it. He was more than willing to put on his jersey, grab a ball and look like a badass! This was also to teach Rod, how to balance ambient lighting with flash/studio lights. He learned quite a bit that day, and I am glad I was able to help teach him.

Now, I know a lot of you will go check out the EXIF data, and yes I handheld this at 1/8 second. I know I could have bumped up my ISO, and gotten better shutter speeds. However, I did not do that for 2 very specific reasons. I did not want to introduce ANY noise to the image whatsoever, secondly, I wanted to get lots of blur movement in the background. I set my camera to flash the strobes on rear curtain sync and I could still get Rod super sharp!

I also posted the shot SOOC, as I have been getting a lot of messages and e-mails about my post processing. I am not sure how much interest there might be, but if there is enough, I will start a blog showing post-processing techniques and tutorials. I just want to make sure there will be enough traffic and interest, as it will be a lot of work to do something like this. So, let me know if you are interested in something like this!

Enjoy,
