31/03/2013; At first, I wasn't particularly happy with these Asian tourists standing in my way. But luckily, they walked away just in time to leave this ghost effect. Which somehow made it look as if the right tourist is trapped in the traffic light stripes. :D

31/03/2013; I have driven past this canal so often when I was in the bus to Central station, but I never paid this neighbourhood a visit because it was never really on the route to wherever I was going.

So when I was walking here the night before, I did see it's potential. We were only here in what I considered to be the wrong time of the day, as it was that slightly boring kind of light that you're having after sunset, but before blue hour is really going on.

Unnecessary to say that I had to go back the day after, especially after I really felt cured from my flu, when I wasn't attending a meet-up and I could just go my own way on the right moment. That certainly was 1 of my best taken decisions of this particular weekend.

12/03/2013; While walking through this street, which nowadays is the main street of Amsterdam Chinatown, it's hard to believe that you could look out on the river IJ from here, some centuries ago.

12/03/2013; Finished plan A, now it's time for a couple of days of plan B, as I promised over here.

As blue hour was basically going on already when I arrived at Central station, I needed to go somewhere interesting quickly. So I chose the Red Light District, where I usually walk past this spot.

I already made a daytime panorama of it, as well as a fully nocturnal shot, but I don't have one of this view during blue hour yet. So while I was there, I might as well make use of the opportunity, right? :)

09/03/2013; Here are two things that I'm not overly fond of, to say the least.

1) Shooting on rainy days.
2) Steep narrow staircases.

And I had to deal with these two things if I wanted to get some pictures 42 meters up on the Westertoren, for this once of a lifetime opportunity (for now anyway) during the Open Tower Day of March 9th last. But it was absolutely worth the hardships. :)

I honestly can't say Moo have improved it's business card creating program over the years, so do you know of another website where you can order business cards for relatively cheap, with also the option to choose for more than 1 photo on the front side?

03/03/2013; After my cat hole shot (see previous shot, here below), I walked around in the neighbourhood a bit when I stumbled upon this whorehouse in an 'alternative' red light district. Where this geezer opened the door of this room next to the whorehouse after I just made the picture, and he yelled at me that it's not allowed to take pictures.

If the fool looked around a bit first, and he was actually able to think for a second or 2, he could have seen that there wasn't a single girl standing at the window at the moment I took this shot. If that would have been the case, I wouldn't even consider taking this capture they way I have taken it.

Honestly, I don't even think this photo is that special. But just because of the demeaning way that poor excuse of a man treated me, I'm uploading this anyway as my kind of revenge.

And I admit, I have made a shot like this before, however I do like the traffic stripes in this shot better. Now I only still need one with these kind of traffic stripes, but in combination with a predominantly bright sky and the occasional floatinng sheepy cloud...
