My first glimpse of the Sierra Club's Timberline Cabin at Horse Camp. Just to its right you can see the start of Olberman's Causeway -- and beyond that -- far right -- the lowest most reaches (just a glimpse) of Avalanche Gulch.

Look at the height of that chimney and then -- for another view of the chimney -- go check out meadowmom's photos -- she's got AWESOME vintage Kodachromes taken here in 1952 and the snowpack that year was incredible! No one was here but I stopped long enough to take a few photos and sign the Guest Register. [It's hard for me to imagine what it must have been like in here -- for meadowmom and her party -- when the cabin was buried in snow almost to the top of its chimney!!]
