Overflow From the Canal

This is an overflow on the Aylesbury branch of the Grand Union Canal. It has been flowing for ages now because of the rain and show we have been having. It's a couple of inches deep, our dog loves it.

This hill is a coral reef from about 150 million years ago, as are all teh hills in this area. This hill will have been constantly occupied since pre history as are all the hills around here. This hill is near the village of Brill which is on a neighbouring larger hill.

Taken in the Vale of Ewas in Wales. This is at Daren-isaf north of Cwmyoy a small village on the way up to Llanthony. The profile of the valley side is caused by landslip. The rocks are unstable. This house is on top of an old landslip. I have always liked the location of this house although I would not like to live there. It's too far from anyone.

This picture is a black and white conversion from a scan from Kodak Ektachrome 100 with the contrast increased.

I used my OM-2 and Zuiko 70-150 lens.

A Contax T2 on a Benbo tripod does look incongruous. However it is worth the effort. The Contax's Sonnar lens is so good. I use aperture priority when the Contax is on a tripod. It is worth the effort of getting the fine detail the lens can resolve with the circular aperture available from the aperture blades.
