Members of the band are from H Troop Northwest Mounted Police. Though stationed at Fort MacLeod they often travelled to Lethbridge to take part in musical events. When the NWMP Barrack was built in town, there was a band ready to perform at all ceremonial events or dances within the mess hall.

Members of the Lethbridge Colliery Band posing in uniform and with their instruments. The Lethbridge Colliery Band or the “First Coalbanks Band" were employees of the Lethbridge Colliery Mine, railway personnel and company employees. This 20 member band had their first concert a mere month after organization.

Uniforms: hats had a red plume and yellow band, jacket and pants were blue gray with red trim, belt was white.

Identified from left to right: front row - John Westerlayne, Dan McKay, Bob Niven, Bob Watson, ?, Band Leader A. Malacord. 2nd row - Jim McKay, ?, Bob Scott, Tom Niven, ?, Ronald McKay. 3rd row - ?, Jim McNulty, John Stafford, Jim White, ?, John Monney. The two men in the back are unidentified.
